Steal THIS From Me, And I Won’t Call The Police…

If You Steal THIS From Me, I Won't Call The Police...Happy (belated) Fourth of July for those in the U.S.!

I hope you had a great holiday…

I’m sure you were super busy that week, so if you missed my last post, you might want to check it out here – especially if you feel like your life has zigged and zagged a little. I promise, it’ll help you embrace your path a bit more!

So, speaking of July, I’ve noticed a lot of people taking time this month to evaluate where they’re at and what they’ve accomplished so far this year.

Makes me think back to the beginning of the year, when I challenged you to make just one resolution for 2014 – to go small.

Let me ask you, if you were to do a mid-year review, would you say you’ve “gone small” yet?

You know, made one of those small gestures that has a BIG impact?

Not to brag, but I have.

Last week, while I was at the gym, I thanked the woman who was cleaning all of the gym equipment. Gosh did she appreciate it.

Her look of delight suggested people rarely, if ever, took the time to thank her.If You Steal THIS From Me, I Won't Call The Police...

My mom got this same reaction when she “went small” while dining out recently…when she thanked the busboy who was wiping off the table so she and my dad could sit down and eat.

The busboy beamed as he heard these two very simple, yet powerful words.

And you know what?

I beamed when my mom told me this story.

Gratitude feels good.

And, so, I have a challenge for you this week.

I want you to “steal my gratitude”.

Yep. Steal it. Copy it. Whatever you want to call it.

I want to challenge you to say ‘thank you’ to people you wouldn’t normally thank, to say ‘thank you’ to people others don’t normally thank.

Trust me, you’re gonna like the way you feel (to quote the former CEO of The Men’s Warehouse)!

So, will you do it?

And, can I ask you a small favor? After you have, will you come back and post a comment to the blog about your experience?

I’d love to hear about it. And I know others would too…

Heck, I’ll even thank you for it!

  1. Great post! I just thanked my 5 year old niece for giving me a hug and she replied, “Of course, silly!” Hearing her giggle made me tickle all over.
