Tell me, have you made a bucket list?
Full of all the things you want to do before you die?
Well, today, I’m going to share with you a different kind of list.
And it’s a list I came up with while walking at the river last week with my wonderful mom and dad.
I love the river at this time of year…beautiful scenery, and I think I’ve identified at least five adorable doggie breeds I want to get one day (Yes, I probably need to go live on a farm!)!
Anywho, while we were keeping a pretty good pace, we noticed several joggers passing us by.
And I said to my folks, “You know, I’ve always wished I could have been a runner, but f*ck it!”
And, with that, I added jogging to my F*ck It! List.
Yes, I said F*ck It! List…
And, yes, I even said the word ‘f*ck’ to my parents!
(I don’t say it very often, by the way — they raised me better than that!)
But the idea came to me as I was thinking about those pesky little (and maybe big) regrets that can sometimes eat away at us inside.
What would YOU add to your own F*ck It! List?
Now, in some ways, I guess you could say that the bucket list is a little bit more fun, right?
So many things to look forward to in the future!
But what about those things we look back on and wish we had done, but probably won’t anymore.
Because, for whatever reason, the ship has sailed…
Well, this week’s post, I suppose, can be viewed as a little tongue and cheek, but the truth is, when you really start making a F*ck It! List, a funny thing starts to happen.
That awful feeling we know as regret starts to disappear.
And, instead, we feel a sense of peace and contentment.
Because we’ve come to a place of acceptance.
Like former supermodel, Cindy Crawford, expressed when talking about aging in an online article for The Daily Mirror…
You have to come to terms with what you’re not going to do. I’m not going to speak French, I’m not going to play concert piano.
But I like the way I am with my family and I’m amazed I’m still thriving in a career I thought far gone from at this age.”
Yep. Cindy’s focusing on what she is doing and has let go of those things that maybe she wished she had done…
Of course, this would have probably been a lot easier for her to do if she had made a F*ck It! List!
But, alas, she didn’t.
But you can.
With this handy dandy F*ck It! List template I’ve created just for you.
Click here or on the image below to download and print the template — it’s free! (Once you click the image, you’ll find the print button in the upper left corner.)
So, the next time you catch yourself wishing you had done this or regretting that you didn’t do that, what are you going to do?
Add it to your F*ck It! List, of course!
And then get to work crossing off items from your bucket list.
